Maisha Thasin
Hey! I'm Maisha ( مايشا / মাইশা / 마이샤 / マイシャ), a Math student at the University of Waterloo diving into all sorts of things from Statistics, Computational Mathematics, Pure Maths to Computer Science. This is my professional website, where I'll talk mostly about tech and release more polished stuff. To look at what I'm into and other unpolished, raw insights, to go my personal (personal) website here (link). I like to build cool things combining tech but mostly I'm a Data scientist diving into the huge umbrella of everything Data Science. I have done 5 Data science internships diving into all parts of data from data engineering to Machine Learning to MLOps. I like to play around in all parts of tech, from design to games. I beleive in being a full stack data scientist and I'm constantly finding new ways to build.
I'm also part of other things at Waterloo, I'm currently the VP of Development and workshop lead at the Data science club, where I'm leading developers to build our seamless developement for our upcoming CxC hackathon and also creating data engineering workshops. I'm also a project developer at the UW Blueprint (largest student developement team for building software for non-profit) on the internal tools where I'm creating robust infrastructure for several teams to use. I'm also part of the WAT.ai brain2text team where we are researching state of the art methods to convert EEG signals to phenomes for a stanford competition.
Other things I've been part of:
* University of Waterloos Kendo club (2021-present)
* UW CUBE - AR/VR team lead: designigng AR/VR products
* Reading groups: Learning about Bayesian statistics, LLM reading group
